Ballygally Beach & Ballygally Castle Hotel; 360 Degree Video Video

Home
Ballygally Beach in this Antrim village through to the Ballygally Castle Hotel - a lovely Hastings hotel that is very popular for weddings outside of Belfast. The Ballygally Castle Hotel is also known for its ghost room - so it is haunted! Anyone can enter the ghost room and read all about it - which is great. The Castle Hotel has lovely grounds - a really nice place to stop for afternoon tea or lunch (where you will pass by a Game of Thrones Door as well). On our list of places we want to stay in! :-)

One of the best things about Ireland and Northern Ireland in general is that whenever you come to visit a specific place, most probably you will find lots of other things within a walking distance which you could walk to and check. Ballygally is known to be a village and holiday resort that is found in county Antrim, Northern Ireland, which lies on the Antrim coast, and that could explain why this place is considered good when it comes to Ballygally beach.

We have been to Ballygally before and to its beach and famous castle but this time we decided to bring the experience in a different way; our trip this time is filmed in a 360 degree video to bring the trip in a more real way and try to help those who might not be able to come and visit the place themselves to check what it looks like.

Our trip started at the Ballygally beach where we enjoyed the breeze and the weather and then we headed to the Ballygally Castle - which is sometimes referred to as the Haunted Hotel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0hsIS4dlho) - where we explored the hotel and at the same time came across one of the doors that appeared in the Game of Thrones movie series (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SnEqs1sBIU) - there are different doors appearing in this movie which were all located in Northern Ireland.

Ballygally beach is known to be famous and one preferred by lots of people because it is sandy and is 200 meters long, which is considered a good thing for lots of people, at the same time it also manages to provide great views in all the directions; northwards up towards Antrim Coast, eastwards across the sea to Scotland, southwards to distinctive Ballygally Head, and westwards inland to landmark features, such as Scawt Hill and Sallagh Braes.

The 360 degree video experience we have been through in this place started at the beach and then was completed by going to the Ballygally Castle Hotel where we found the door and then we went to complete the journey by checking the ghosts room in the hotel - the main reason why it is known as the Haunted Hotel. This ghosts room is one of the different experiences that one will go through in Northern Ireland because it tells the story of the room which are written on the wall - thankfully this room does not have anything to do with the hotel itself, it is separated in what is known and referred to as the Ballygally Tower that is part of that castle or hotel.

The Ballygally Castle Hotel is a place for people to stay at, a location where people could do some of their events, and it is also a place for people to come and check the door that appeared in Game of Thrones movie and also check that room of ghosts that is famously known in it. Actually, what is interesting about the Ballygally Castle Hotel is the fact that it is the only 17th century building that is still working as a residence place until today and is also reputed as one of the most haunted places to be found in all of Ulster.

From those ghost stories which we have known about the place and read up there in the room, we knew about the most active which was the former resident in the place, who was known as Lady Isobel Shaw, who used to have a habit of knocking the doors of the rooms and immediately disappearing; Lady Isobel Shaw was reported to die after falling from the balcony of her room after her husband locked her inside and left her to starve. Another story was that of Madame Nixon who lived there in the hotel in the 19th century and who could be heard now walking around the hotel in her silk dress.

There were actually different stories told about the guests of the hotel who heard or experienced specific incidences in this room or even those stories which are told by the people working in the hotel, such as preparing the room for a specific guest and then coming back to find everything scattered around and realize that nothing is in its right place or order.

There are different trips which we have been through in Northern Ireland, county Antrim to be specific, which unfold different stories about the place and since we are talking about this trip to Ballygally with its beach and famous castle hotel then we should also refer to that trip we have once done when we decided to visit Ballygally and Ballintoy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H7VhL7xmaQ).

Some of the best locations around Ireland / Northern Ireland and further afield. A travel blog/vlog of the hidden treasures that are on our doorstep.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
