One of the most interesting things about Pickie Park in Bangor is that it collects different water games and sports in the same place which would serve people during the summer days; they will be playing in water and having the view of the harbour at the same time. From the different things which the families could have fun while doing in this park, there is the most famous thing and the one taking the biggest part which is the swans, there is also the Pickie puffer, the pirate slide, water walking, electric cars, crazy golf, disco ducks and of course the playpark.
As an adult, you could of course enjoy paddling the swans with your kids but most of the other games are unfortunately for the kids only but in order not to stay bored while waiting for your kids to have some fun, there is a cafe which you could sit at and have something to drink while waiting for them. Inside this cafe, there is also an indoor playing area for the kids that is prepared with an activity table, blackboard, play kitchen and a selection of toys and coloring sheets, so kids could also play inside if their age is not allowing them to play in any of the outside games.
Bangor Harbour or Marina is one thing those visiting Pickie Park will manage to see and experience but they could also visit the Marine Gardens which the fun park leads to it. The Marine Gardens is a leisurely walk for the people stretched by the coast where people could have a panoramic view of the Bangor Bay and the Hills of Antrim beyond.
Pickie Park is the amusement park to visit when you want to have some fun with your family members and it is always better to choose going there in summer to manage playing with all these games - there are specific games which might not be even available during winter.
This is one thing to check in Bangor, county Down, but there are still other attractions which you could visit. Near the harbour - which is also where the park is located - you could get into the town and visit any of those restaurants that tend to serve seafood or even any of the traditional Irish dishes that you could try.
There are some other places of interest in Bangor which attract tourists and visitors to them, there is the famous McKee Clock which is found in the place, there is the Bangor Old Custom House, Bangor Walled Garden, Bangor Abbey, Bangor Castle, Bangor Market House, Somme Heritage Centre, Castle Park, Ward Park and other attractions found around the town as well. If you are visiting Bangor for a day or two, these are the places which you could visit, but if you came just for the sake of checking the harbour or the marina and letting the kids play in the Pickie Park, you might find no more time to do any other thing, just find a good restaurant and have something nice to eat before going back home again (
