This tiny clip was played during the recording of the show, hence the laughter and frantic cheering of the studio audience reacting to this epic and historic performance from Bill.

During the much longer segment about Earth, climate change, the Green New Deal, Carbon Pricing and more, Bill Nye had two more appearances in short “lecture” videos. I highly recommend you check out the whole show.

Even though many simply see this as comedy (and fucking yes, it’s bloody funny) or dismiss it, because Bill is not “a real” scientist (one of the popular hater arguments; because he’s an engineer and doesn’t have a PhD), it is significant for heaps of folks who grew up learning from and looking up to him.
