What still confuses me is the sheer size of Miku’s fanbase…she truly is an international pop sensation. But how can a hologram with an artificial voice be so beloved by many, even more so than some flesh and blood entertainers? These lonely, anime-obsessed men in colorful wigs have no shame in idolizing what is essentially empty space. And yet…..of course!
Miku…is the perfect pop star, unburdened by the shackles of age and free from celebrity scandal. Her mind is a collective of talented musicians and brilliant animators, all united under one single purpose. And that purpose is…Miku. Her fans….the ones without the wigs, they create the music, and then Miku sings the music, which in turn inspires the fans to create…music. The cycle continues, and Miku’s popularity grows bigger and bigger. Miku is no ordinary pop star…she is the culmination of millions of creative minds working separately, but at the same time, they are working in unison. Miku literally is…everything. That is the key to her success…
