Dieser Apple iMac DV M5521 von 2000 oder 2001 ist im Originalzustand von damals mit MacOS 9.0.4 und allen damals installierten Programmen wie MS-Word für Mac, QuarkExpress und AppleWorks. Der iMac gehört zur zweiten Generation der iMacs, die Steve Jobs 1998 neu auf den Markt brachte.

Besonders signifikant für diese Zeit und die damals neuen iMacs war das transluzente Gehäuse in verschiedenen Farben wie Blueberry (Blau), Lime-Green (Grün), Strawberry (Rot), Purple (Violett) oder Tangerine (Orange). Durch das halb durchsichte Gehäuse konnte man den Röhrenmonitor und die Elektronik sehen.

Das bei diesem iMac DV mit PowerPC 750 (400 MHz) Prozessor installierte originale MacOS 9.0.4 erlaubt einen Blick in das Jahr 2000/2001 mit den damaligen technischen Möglichkeiten. Für 15 Euro wurde dieser funktionierende iMac DV M5521 vor dem Schrott gerettet.
