Dark and Stormy Cocktail at The Spaniard Belfast - NI Video

Home
Dark and Stormy Cocktail is the Unofficial National Drink of Bermuda and the sailing community. We get to make and taste it at The Spaniard Belfast. It is a mix of Dark Rum, Fresh Lime and Ginger beer - it tastes lovely! πŸ˜ƒ 🍸🍸🍸

History has it that the Dark and Stormy Cocktail was created by an ex sailor called Gosling who had settled on Bermuda and started to make Dark Rum. At some point Ginger Beer was mixed with it - giving us the drink we know today! Ginger beer was a tonic that sailors took to battle sea sickness.

The story of this drink started with mainly adding the dark rum with the ginger beer but sometimes and in some places, squeezing half a lemon is also considered an option - just like the way The Spaniard Pub in Belfast tends to serve it.

A special thanks to The Spaniard Pub in Belfast - it was great to be able to sample the Dark and Stormy Cocktail there and be shown how to make it! :-) If you are tempted to try one of these - be sure to visit!

Sharing with you the best historical and touristic places and destinations all over Ireland and Northern Ireland is the first plan to run after but recently we decided to give you a little bit help with those restaurants and bars in the place which we consider them the best to be visited in the place; those which we have tried ourselves and would definitely recommend them to all those coming to visit Ireland.

The Spaniard Pub in Belfast is one famous place which we did not only get the chance to visit, but we were also given the permission and the chance to prepare the dark and stormy cocktail along with the bartender there. The Spaniard Pub in Belfast is one of those places which we recommend and which is even located in Central Cathedral Quarter which is a developing area of the city where tourists could actually check several places before or after having their drink at The Spaniard.

Among those different places to visit in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and which happen to be around The Spaniard Pub, there is St. Anne's Cathedral which lies in its heart and which was the main reason behind giving this area that name (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k63KxsVKNi4). St. Anne's Cathedral is also known as Belfast Cathedral and it is a Church of Ireland Cathedral that is one of the destinations that lots of tourists tend to visit whenever they come to Belfast. In the same area, there is also The Mac which is a Metropolitan Arts Centre and one of Europe's leading art centres that houses three art galleries, two theaters, a bar and a restaurant and a family room.

Back in the old days, the Cathedral Quarter was the center of Belfast's trade and warehousing district, which sprung up directly from the prosperous linen and ship building industries. The best thing about this place, the quarter, is that it still retains some of the oldest buildings which one could come across, making the whole area more appealing for tourists and visitors who are coming to Ireland with hope to spot those old and historical buildings and get the chance to check the best out of this country (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teQFlh-ezts).

There are different restaurants and bars that people could visit in this area and one of them is the one we have chosen to learn how to do some of the cocktails out there - which is The Spaniard Pub - so you could still wander around the place and check whether there is something more appealing for you or not.

We consider preparing a cocktail is some kind of art which one should learn - not because it is difficult to be prepared, but mainly because of choosing and mixing those different ingredients all together to bring the last outcome back to you.

Our journey through the different pubs and bars was not only at The Spaniard Pub in Belfast, but we also visited Muriel's Cafe Bar in Belfast and got the chance to learn the Elderflower Martini (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW16KcZFSBA), and we were in Lakeside Bar & Grill in County Fermanagh and got the recipes for different cocktails there, such as the Cinderella mocktail (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWHXY_7MLNk), the Cosmopolitan cocktail (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3RC7PFgHso), the Brandy Alexander cocktail (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1TeQkKYSYc), the Boatyard Double Gin (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjEFNtL8yOI), the Whiskey Snapper (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qm6-tnv6jic), and also realized that this place serves one of the locally brewed beers in Fermanagh which is called Inish Mac Saint (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTHcoz8TU9k) - a good one to try as well - so we have made a pretty good tour around some places in Northern Ireland to bring those favorite bars and pubs out for you to go to and try their magnificent cocktails or even get the chance to learn the recipes for some of these cocktails served in them.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. πŸŽ₯

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced πŸ€”

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. πŸ”

Creating Truly Random Links πŸ› οΈ

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube πŸ“Ί

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎡

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact πŸ€‘

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. πŸ“ˆ
