Make Phalaenopsis Orchids to Bloom Again. Video

Home
Flowering is the most crucial moment for Phalaenopsis Orchids. All the things that occur during the flowering process - pollination, recombination of DNA and the production of seeds - helps the next orchid generation grow. It is not yet known what kind of protein or part of the gene is responsible for “switching on” the process to make a flowering plant, in this case a phalenopsis orchid, produce flowers instead of leaves. Multiple experiments show that there are many triggers for the flowering process which can be environmental conditions such as lighting, watering, nutrients and temperature. While scientists are working on figuring out the mechanism, for now we're going to depend on Mother Nature's instincts. #OrchidsCare #orchids #Phalaenopsis #OrchidsForBeginners #PhalaenopsisOrchids #orchidlovers
The main reason why orchids in our home environment tend to produce foliage instead of flowers is because they are living in a stable condition all year around with the same temperature, watering regime and prolonged natural lightning. #Phalenopsis orchids come from Southeast Asia. Climates in these tropical countries have two main seasons, dry season and wet season (or monsoon).
During the dry season from April to October, these plants can remain without rain for a prolonged period of time. During the monsoon season from November to March, when it is raining non stop for weeks, plants can suffer from a lack of ultraviolet. Besides that, we know that orchids usually grow by attaching themselves onto trees (under the crown of the trees) and do not really like open sunny places. The temperature during the monsoon season is lower than during the hot months of the dry season. This also means that the temperature during the day differs greatly than during nighttime. Analyzing that closely, we can assume that the changes can trigger cell DNA to “switch on” and make the orchids start blooming.
Experimenting with orchids, we noticed that even one instance of an uncomfortable or "stressor" situation can be a trigger for flowering, but by having all three together we increase our chances to make your orchid bloom again.
We recommend 6 steps. First 3 steps suggest putting orchids through shock by cutting off the water supply, reducing natural light with just occasional artificial light and reducing the temperature (no lower that +15 Celsius).
The following three steps are the rehabilitation process which involves switching out old media with poor nutrients with new media rich with nutrients like fresh sphagnum moss. This also includes fertilizing and returning the plant to normal temperatures and normal watering regimes. We also recommend using warm water, around 50 Celsius, because it will speed up the hydration and absorption of the nutrients.
These steps are only for healthy #orchids with developed root systems so avoid using this for sick or dying orchids. Only orchids which are growing very well and are getting ”fat”, but are not blooming, can benefit from this process. Your orchid is not going to die because it is natural for them to experience these stressors and healthy orchids will rehabilitate very quickly. For most tropical blooming houseplants, this shock therapy method is used successfully, in different proportions, when they are producing leave but not yet blooming. Such as Madagascar jasmine, Bromeliad, Kalanchoe, Wax plant, Christmas cactus. Guzmania, African violet etc.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. 🎥

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced 🤔

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. 🔍

Creating Truly Random Links 🛠️

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube 📺

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎵

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact 🤑

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. 📈
