Очень часто докучают туристам на кемпингах выпрашивая или воруя у людей еду. Эти белки отличаются незаурядным интеллектом и сложным поведением. В дикой природе красные белки питаются в основном семенами хвойных деревьев, половину их пищевого рациона составляют семена белой сосны.
